Who We Are

MC3 was formed in San Jose in February 2010, representing the operators of 12 medicinal cannabis collectives.

Our collectives range from established store-front operations to planned delivery services. Our operators are business people, entrepreneurs, attorneys, real estate developers – men and women from all walks of life.

We are united by our experiences with the therapeutic effects of cannabis in a wide variety of medical conditions – some of us have personally experienced the positive benefits, some of us have seen the effects in friends, family, co-workers.

We believe the time has come for our city to accept the overwhelming evidence from medical research and the hundreds of physicians who write referrals for medicinal cannabis.

We want San Jose to take the best practices in regulating medicinal cannabis collectives from other cities including San Francisco, Santa Rosa, West Hollywood, Sebastopol and Oakland.

We are dedicated to helping our patients, many of whom have debilitating illness or injury, to have convenient access to the medication their physicians have recommended – in a dignified, supportive, professional, community-approved environment.

What is MC3’s Mission?

MC3’s mission is to advocate for the sensible regulation of medicinal cannabis collectives, starting in San Jose. MC3 believes that well-planned zoning regulations and ordinances that set out the operating standards for our collectives are essential.

We seek:

  1. Providing San Jose residents with a physician referral a local, affordable and safe environment to obtain medical cannabis
  2. Sensible zoning and regulations for operating a medicinal cannabis collective in the City of San Jose
  3. A system of appropriate fees and taxes to be paid by medicinal cannabis collectives to benefit the City of San Jose and its residents.
